About Us

Making It Miami is a content house focused on highlighting what makes Miami unique. Not only do we want to showcase the lifestyle that the city is known for (yes, we live where others vacation) — we also want to explore the deeper essence of the city: the history, the people, the dynamic and more.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Natalia moved to Miami from Colombia when she was two years old. Growing up, she felt disconnected from the city and pictured herself leaving either for or after college. But as she began exploring and connecting with her community, her perspective of home evolved.

“Being a first generation immigrant created a sense of displacement where I felt like I wasn’t Colombian enough or American enough. The great part of growing up in Miami is that my identity ended up being intertwined with the city. I’m a Miamian.”

Natalia attended Florida International University and received a degree in journalism. She’s worked for various local news outlets (see some of her favorite stories below).

“Although most of the cultures here value community, it’s so easy to live an individualistic life in Miami. It wasn’t until I started covering local stories and talking to sources, to people in the community, that I began to truly appreciate what Miami has to offer.”
